What is the IE LLC?

“The IE LLC allows students from all over the world to connect with each other.” Andrew Overton

The International Education Living Learning Community (IE LLC) prepares students to grow in intercultural competencies, experience the marvels of the world’s cultures and develop cross-cultural leadership skills.

We are a group of students and faculty interested in learning more about the world, how to embrace other cultures, and how to better ourselves. If you’re interested in making friends from across the globe, as well as getting to know what connects us all as humans, this is the right group for you!

In the IE LLC, you live with a wide range of students from all over the world. Your roommate and neighbors will all be in the program with you, so you’ll have plenty of time to connect. You’ll be lead by your Peer Ambassador, a fellow student who has already lived with an LLC. You’ll be taught by faculty members of the University that have plenty of experience with the world.
We have two meetings each month. One meeting is in a classroom setting, where we discuss the differences and similarities between our cultures, as well as how we can change our communities. The other meeting is in a public setting, where we bring the theory to life, and also have lots of fun. Some adventures we’ve had this year include going to an escape room, playing laser tag, and traveling to Kansas City, Missouri.
